Join the Mila "Baba Posse"

Mila needs your help! We have several great resume-building volunteer opportunities available for people—like us—who love making a difference by being actively involved in the arts. If you'd like to be a part of the "Baba Posse," we'd like to hear from you! We're currently looking for people with time and expertise in any of the following areas:

Board of Directors

Board Members: Are you seeking a service opportunity in the arts? Mila, a registered 501(c)3, is currently welcoming applications to our Board of Directors, the body that oversees the execution of the ensemble’s mission to create culturally authentic, musically excellent experiences for a wide audience.

Booking

Booking Scout : Do you know some great venues in the Midwest? Have connections to arts presenters locally, regionally and nationally? Are you affiliated with a school or institution that might be interested in workshops or teaching residencies? Contact us to help secure performance contracts and create relationships within the arts community!

Music

Copyright Research: Are you familiar with the legal labyrinth of copyright law? Work with Mila to secure permissions to use musical arrangements, assure compliance and replicate recorded music as needed.

Music Research and Transcription: Are you connected to music libraries or to Eastern European communities here or abroad? Familiar with Finale ™ or similar softward? Help us find and transcribe new music for our repertoire!.

Music Translation and Song Summaries: re you a native speaker of an Eastern European language? We’re always seeking help with translations of Russian, Georgian, Bulgarian, Serbian, Slovenian, Latvian, Polish, and a number of other languages..

Music Administration : Want to help Mila without needing any rare skills? Scan and copy sheet music, burn CDs for practice. Work with artistic directors to develop program content, set lists, formation charts and music books for performances.

Resource Development

Grant Writer: Know the ropes of the arts funding world? Write persuasively? Research and write grants to increase Mila's operational and project funding.

Special Events Coordinator: Love to throw a great party? Have professional event planning experience and know how to tie together music, culture, food and wine into an unforgettable event? Mila would love to host dinner and concert events in the near future. Help us make this happen!.
